The Classic Vehicle Restoration Show
THE SHOW
The Footman James Classic Vehicle Restoration Show celebrates all things classic, and is the place to be if you love to watch a vintage motor restored to its original beauty. However far through your project you are, your budget, or your level of expertise, you’ll find exactly what you need at the Royal Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet on November 2-3.
Visitors can enjoy a wealth of traders, jumblers and service providers showcasing their goods, making it the go-to place to meet like-minded car enthusiasts. The showground, within the heart of the West Country, is the perfect backdrop for some of the most fascinating restored classic cars you will see, both complete and part-way through. It’s an ideal opportunity to pick up advice, hints and tips from the people who know the ins and outs of restoration like the back of their hand.
Inside the spacious halls of the Royal Bath & West Showground, there will be a huge range of independent traders giving you the chance to grab a bargain and find the special parts you need for your restoration project.
Each year, owners clubs pull out all the stops to create a unique and entertaining display at the show. The stands and all that goes with it are often home-made, showing that their creativity and skill goes even further beyond their knowledge of the incredible cars that they bring with them!
The Haynes International Motor Museum will also return, offering visitors an exciting chance to view their array of immaculate classics, as well as the chance to watch live restoration workshops while putting their questions to the engineers. Enthusiasts will be able to witness the high standard of work and craftsmanship that goes into restoring a Haynes vehicle, maybe inspiring your own project!
The Automotive Garage Clear-Out gives all visitors the chance to rehome their old possessions, or the chance to grab a bargain, in the good old fashioned car boot on the Sunday.
Returning to the show from last year, the Kit Car Hall will be bigger than ever and will include traders and clubs from across the UK. If you fancy making your own kit car, then there will be a range of traders selling everything you need to kick start your project. If you need any hints and tips, club members will be able to guide you through the dos and don’ts to make your build an easier project.
The famous Classic Car Park is one of the highlights of the show, offering you the last chance of the year to get out and about in your classic before the winter. In this area, you often find photographers, journalists and enthusiasts alike walking through rows upon rows of gorgeous classic cars. Every vehicle entered at the show will be eligible to win one of the many awards on offer, with a variety of prizes and rosettes up for grabs.
Wrapping up proceedings at the Classic Vehicle Restoration Show, the Exmoor Hall will once again be home to the Charterhouse Auction for the weekend. There is guaranteed to be something to cater for all tastes, interests and budgets available.
